Who is the Unknown Spaceman?

The man known only as the "Unknown Spaceman" is a figure shrouded in mystery, his origins a puzzle scattered across the stars. The prevailing theory, as outlandish as it seems, is that he is not of this Earth. Found as a toddler wandering near the Arecibo Observatory (since decommissioned) with no records or family, he was raised in a series of group homes. His only possession was a small, unidentifiable metallic locket that glowed with a soft, internal light, which was promptly confiscated for "study" and subsequently lost.

What fuels this extraterrestrial theory is not his appearance—he is perfectly human in every observable way—but his preternatural aptitude for astrophysics and spacecraft mechanics, skills he demonstrated as a teenager by allegedly building a functional reactor from a toaster and old satellite parts. He vanished from Earth in his early twenties, commandeering a prototype deep-space vessel he charmingly named the Stardust Cowboy.

Now, after returning to Earth many years later and keeping it as his home base, the Unknown Spaceman still travels the cosmos as a solo explorer. Though his primary, deeply personal mission is to find any trace of the parents who left him behind and understand why, he has a remarkable talent for stumbling into trouble. He approaches cosmic peril with a mix of bewildering luck, improvised engineering, and sheer, unflappable optimism. Thus, his quest for answers is perpetually sidetracked by a series of chaotic, often comical adventures, making him a legend on the space-lanes: a seeker of truth, and an unwitting magnet for interstellar mischief.
